Who am I to write a book?

Hello, fellow peeps!

Who am I to write a book? A thought that has visited my mind a few times over the past few years as I have written down the experiences and adventures that I have been blessed enough to have.

What makes my story special versus everyone else that has gone through rough patches or traveled to different countries? Why should you read my book? Why should I bare my soul and let you see into my heart?

The truth is, there isn't anything special about my story. The only difference is that I want to share it so that somehow, some way and somewhere in the world it might just help someone who needs some hope and some light in his or her life like I did so many years ago.

I am not writing a book so that I can become famous and makes lots of money (which is a shot in the dark if you consider how many books there really are in the world versus how many actually make in the world as best sellers or get made into movies). Yes, it would be nice but that is not my driving force.

So, who am I to publish a book? The real question is, "Who am I not to publish a book?" This mission and vision was surely put into my heart for a reason and I will see it through to the end. Even if my story only helps one person, and that person helps one person, and so on and so on. That is how we make a difference in the world.

It can be scary sometimes when I think about sharing the deepest, loneliest, and broken parts of myself from that part of my life. There will be people who object. But that is life, isn't it? On the flip side, it is an honor to write about the people who literally changed my life and to tell the world just how wonderful they are.

So bring it on, one baby step at a time.

Love

Chene
