Hi, everyone!
Well... it has been a week and then some! Between Mercury being retrograde, my transition at work, and working on my book proposal for the Hay House Writers Community Contest, it's been a little crazy in my life. That's on top of normal mom life responsibilities.
I am extremely excited to share the news that I successfully submitted my book proposal on Saturday. I had to call in a bit editing help for a second set of eyes on my proposal. As good as what you can be, it is hard to edit your own work when you are under pressure. If it wasn't for Joan I am not sure I would have finished in time. On the fun side of the proposal, I had to make a 2-5 minute video that I needed to send along with my proposal document. I must have re-recorded my video about 20 times before I got a bit quirky in the last take. I am quite proud that I edited it a little bit with a cool intro slide that gave a nice feel to the video and who I am.
I love my title, subtitle and hook!
Title: Say ‘Yes’ and Go Left
Subtitle: A story about using your head, trusting your intuition and following your heart.
Hook: To find yourself, you need to let go of who you think you are.
You would think I would be able to take a breather now since the contest winner announcement is only in 60 days time... but this is not true. Now I have to actively implement my marketing plan and build my brand awareness which is scary to a degree because I don't have any experience in this area but, thankfully, I do have some great peeps helping me behind the scenes.
One of the big realizations that I had while doing the chapter summaries is that I need to do a story line edit to make sure my story flows a bit smoother and I definitely need to re-write a few of my chapters. I can't wait to share more of my book with you!
Whether I win the contest or not, I feel like I have accomplished a big step because now I have something to work with to approach any publisher. Hay House is my number one choice but who knows what life has in store for me.
Thank you for being on this journey with me. I appreciate every single person that is supporting me on this adventure.
Love and light,
Chené
