Hello, lovelies!
So writers write, right? Right!

It's time for a little wordsmith update! I love this new phrase. I came across a few unique ways to call myself a writer without using the word 'writer' which made my nerdy self smile.
I have finally finished the draft outline of my book. This is exciting for me because draft 1 was all about getting the story onto the page. It is a beautiful messy masterpiece and a milestone to say, 'I made it!' Draft 2 with the book outline is giving it some shape, form, and direction which has me excited as it starts to feel like a real book and something presentable to literary agents and publishers.
This journey is a little bit exhausting as it feels like I still have a long way to go and no idea how I am going to get there but I am here, I am showing up, I am trying, and I am still dreaming. Building my author platform is challenging and not my area of expertise but I do understand why it needs to be done. Like in my previous post, I am not here to sell anything but simply to share my story. As long as I keep my intention clear and use it as my guiding star, I can't go wrong.
I came across an interesting tweet that said you should start your next book while you are revising your first. I am contemplating this thought seriously. It keeps up the passion and excitement so that the journey doesn't get boring. I have been thinking about my novel I started in NaNoWriMo 2017 which was inspired by an entry in my journal. I had just finished a backpacking adventure from the North to South of Thailand visiting 7 cities in 11 days. My character starts off sitting in a little town called Hua Hin at a night market people watching and sipping on a Jack Daniels and Soda. I was recovering from a fallout with my travel buddy in Bangkok and she is on the run from her legacy. I wrote up to 9 chapters and the storyline has bits of Thailand inspiration in it along with a best friend, romance, magic, a sexy villain, mystery, and adventure.
Why can't I write a memoir and a paranormal adventure that lights up my soul? The answer is that I can and I am going to do it.
Let's get this party started and celebrate each step of the way! Thank you for being here and sharing it with me.
Much Love
Chené
